Privacy Policy
The short version
Nothing you record here leaves your phone. There is no account, no server, no analytics and no advertising. The sections below are the detail on top of that.
Information we collect
None. We do not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal information. There is no sign-up, no login and no profile. Every feature works fully offline, and we have no server that could receive anything even if we wanted to.
What is saved on your device
The app writes the following to its own private storage on your phone — a local Hive database inside the app sandbox, which other apps cannot read:
- Your streak: the date and time you started it, or the moment of your most recent relapse.
- Your calendar history: for each day, whether it was clean or a relapse. Days are only ever marked by the app itself, from the streak you started.
- A relapse log: for each finished streak, a local id, its start and end time, the reason it ended and any note attached to it.
- Your panic sessions: the panic timer’s end time and total length, so a running lock survives closing or rebooting the app.
- Your settings: whether onboarding is done, and your meditation volume, repeat and loudness-boost choices.
Permissions and why we ask
The app requests only what its offline features need. Every one of these is used on your device, and none sends data to us:
- Notifications — to show playback controls for the guided meditation, and (on Android 13+) only after you grant it.
- Foreground media service — keeps the meditation audio and its controls alive while your screen is off.
- Vibration and wake lock — haptic feedback in Panic Mode and keeping a running session awake.
- Run at startup — if a panic timer was still running when the phone rebooted, the app relaunches to restore it, so restarting the device cannot drop the lock.
- Audio settings — a loudness boost applied to the meditation audio on your device’s output.
- No network or storage access — the app requests neither the Internet permission nor access to your files, so the records here cannot leave the device even by accident.
Device Administrator (Panic Mode)
Panic Mode can optionally ask for Device Administrator access, and only when you turn it on — Android shows its own confirmation screen, which you can decline. While it is active, Android refuses to uninstall the app or clear its data. That is the whole purpose: a running streak cannot be wiped away to escape an urge. The app asks for no administrative policies at all, gets no visibility into your device beyond that uninstall block, and never uses the access remotely. Deactivate it any time from Android Settings → Security → Device admin apps, and the app uninstalls normally.
Sharing and third parties
We do not share, sell or transfer your information — we have never had it in the first place. The app contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics, no crash reporting, no cloud sync and no social integration. Nothing you record is visible to anyone but you.
Deleting your data
Because the data lives only on your phone, you are always the one who can remove it:
- Delete everything: turn off Device Administrator access if Panic Mode is using it, then open Android Settings → Apps → NoFap Brahmacharya → Storage → Clear storage. Uninstalling the app deletes the same data.
- There is nothing to delete on our side: no account, no server copy and no backup we hold, so there is no request you need to send.
Children
This app is made for adults (18+) and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and as described above we collect no information from anyone.
Security
Your records are protected by the isolation Android and iOS give each app’s private storage, plus your device passcode and, on modern phones, full-device encryption. Since nothing is transmitted, there is no server copy that could be breached. Do keep in mind that anyone using your unlocked phone can open the app and see your history.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version appears in the app and on this page, with a new “last updated” date. Material changes are also described in the release notes for the version that introduces them.
